About the Meeting

The Inter-American Development Bank held the Eighth Annual IDB - Civil Society Meeting in Montevideo, Uruguay on October 17-18, 2008. During the event the IDB and civil society organizations at a national, sub-regional, and regional level engaged in an open and constructive dialogue as well as strengthened their partner relations.

The themes covered in this annual meeting included development effectiveness, sustainable energy and climate change, good governance, and environmental assessments.

The meeting took place at the Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel and was open on a space-available basis to regional and international Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) that seek to engage with the Bank in its development-related work in the region.
